On August 28, 2020, a non-DOJ individual was sentenced to time served and a two year term of supervised release with the first twelve months ordered as home confinement, and ordered to pay a forfeiture monetary judgment of $15,000, for one count of conspiracy to introduce contraband into the Federal Correctional Complex Yazoo City (FCC Yazoo City) in Mississippi. Kpanah Kollie, the girlfriend of an FCC Yazoo City Inmate, was sentenced in the Southern District of Mississippi. According to the evidence presented at trial, from in or about January 2015 through in or about October 2015, Kollie knowingly conspired with a former FCC Yazoo City Correctional Officer, a FCC Yazoo City Inmate, and others to introduce contraband items, marijuana, tobacco, and cellphones into FCC Yazoo City. The investigation was conducted by the OIG’s Atlanta Area Office.
