On November 20, 2020, a non-DOJ individual self-surrendered following a two-count Indictment charging her with bribing a public official and providing contraband in prison. Alexandria Carter was indicted on September 23, 2020, in the District of Oregon. According to the Indictment, on or about December 13, 2019, Carter provided money to a BOP Correctional Officer in exchange for the Correctional Officer introducing contraband into the Federal Correctional Institution in Sheridan, Oregon for the benefit of a BOP inmate. Also, according to the Indictment, on or about October 28, 2019, Carter provided a cellular telephone to the BOP Inmate. The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Seattle Domicile Office and the FBI.
