On December 2, 2021, a former USMS Task Force Officer previously assigned to a USMS fugitive apprehension task force in Columbus, Ohio, was arrested following an Indictment charging him with two counts of murder and one count of reckless homicide. Michael Jason Meade was indicted in the State of Ohio, Franklin County, by a state Grand Jury. According to the Indictment, on or about December 4, 2020, Meade did purposely and recklessly, and as a proximate result of committing or attempting to commit a Felonious Assault, cause the death of Casey Christopher Goodson, Jr. The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Detroit Area Office, with assistance from the FBI-Columbus Division and the Columbus Police Department. Forensic assistance was provided by the OIG’s Cyber Investigations Office.
