On May 17, 2022, a former USMS Contract Correctional Officer previously assigned to the Leavenworth Detention Center (Leavenworth) in Kansas, was sentenced to 14 months of imprisonment and 2 years of supervised release for one count of conspiracy to commit bribery and introduce contraband into a prison. Jacqueline Sifuentes was sentenced in the District of Kansas. According to the factual statement in support of the guilty plea, from in or about August 2020 through in or about September 2020, Sifuentes used her position at Leavenworth to conspire with others to receive at least $800 in exchange for smuggling contraband, including tobacco, methamphetamine, and marijuana, into the facility. The investigation was conducted by the OIG’s Chicago Field Office and the FBI.
