On November 15, 2021, a former Correctional Officer at the Sandoval County Detention Center (SCDC), a USMS Contract facility in Bernalillo, New Mexico, was sentenced to 24 months of imprisonment and 2 years of supervised release for one count of conspiracy and one count of attempting to provide contraband to an inmate of a prison. Yuri Cobb, who resigned her position after her OIG interview, was sentenced in the District of New Mexico. According to the factual statement in support of the guilty plea, from on or about November 2, 2017, through on or about November 5, 2017, Cobb conspired with others and attempted to provide buprenorphine, a narcotic drug, to an inmate of the SCDC. The investigation was conducted by the OIG’s El Paso Area Office, with assistance from the Cyber Investigations Office.
