Former USMS Contract Correctional Officer Indicted for Introduction of Contraband and Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine

On January 25, 2022, a former USMS Contract Correctional Officer previously assigned to the Cibola County Correctional Center (CCCC) in Grants, New Mexico, was indicted on one count of introduction of contraband and one count of possession with intent to distribute 50 grams and more of methamphetamine.  Dennis Garcia was indicted in the District of New Mexico.  According to the Indictment, on or about February 22, 2021, Garcia unlawfully, knowingly and intentionally possessed, with the intent to distribute 50 grams and more of methamphetamine and attempted to provide the methamphetamine to an inmate of the CCCC.  Garcia was previously arrested on April 22, 2021, following a Criminal Complaint charging him with one count of possession with intent to distribute 50 grams and more of a mixture and substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine.  The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Dallas Field Office with assistance from the DEA Albuquerque Division.
