Former USMS Contract Correctional Officer Arrested and Charged for Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine

On April 22, 2021, a former USMS Contract Correctional Officer previously assigned to the Cibola County Correctional Center (CCCC) in Grants, New Mexico was arrested following a criminal Complaint charging him with one count of possession with intent to distribute 50 grams and more of a mixture and substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine.  Dennis Garcia was charged in the District of New Mexico.  According to the Criminal Complaint, on or about February 22, 2021, CCCC personnel observed Garcia take an item that was later determined to contain 104 grams of Methamphetamine out of his pocket and hide it on a shelf inside a box in the property storage unit of the CCCC.  The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Dallas Field Office, with assistance from the DEA.
