On December 1, 2025, David Lee Harris, a former FBI Supervisory Special Agent previously assigned to the Baton Rouge Resident Agency Office, in Louisiana, was indicted in the State of Texas, Smith County, and arrested on state charges following an indictment on one count of indecency with a child. According to the Indictment, in July of 2018, Harris exposed his genitals to a child younger than 17 years of age, with intent to arouse or gratify his sexual desire. Harris previously pleaded guilty to related charges in Louisiana, including attempted third-degree rape and indecent behavior with a juvenile, and was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment in the Louisiana Department of Corrections. The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s South Central Region, the Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Rangers Division, and the Louisiana State Police.
