On June 4, 2025, Jordan Christopher Belton, a former FBI contractor, was sentenced in the Circuit Court for Escambia County, Florida, to 24 months of probation, completion of a court-mandated sex offender treatment program, payment of a fine, and other restrictions. Belton pleaded no contest to one count of Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communications Device to Facilitate the Commission of a Felony; prosecutors dismissed charges that Belton knowingly used an electronic device to solicit, seduce, lure, or entice a minor to engage in sexual conduct and knowingly traveled to meet a minor for sexual activity. According to the previously filed Information and other court documents, or about February 24, 2024, Belton communicated online with a person he believed to be a 14-year-old girl and arranged to meet to engage in sexual activity. The investigation was conducted by the OIG’s Miami Office and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
