On February 9, 2026 a former Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Task Force Officer (TFO) previously assigned to the Detroit Field Office, pleaded guilty to one felony count of attempted abduction. Daniel Lajack was charged by the Medina County Prosecutor’s Office in Ohio. According to the factual basis in support of the complaint, on April 26, 2024, Daniel Lajack, DEA TFO, unlawfully restrained a local bar patron. The investigation is being conducted by the Hinkley Police Department and the OIG’s Chicago Field Office.
