Former BOP Unit Secretary Pleaded Guilty to Making a False Statement

On August 21, 2023, a former BOP Unit Secretary previously assigned to the Federal Correctional Complex Beaumont (FCC Beaumont) in Texas, pleaded guilty to making a false statement to a department or agency of the United States.  Tanee Coleman pleaded guilty in the Eastern District of Texas.  According to the factual statement in support of the guilty plea, on or about January 26, 2021, during an interview with an OIG Special Agent, Coleman falsely stated she did not know the identity of an inmate who was receiving contraband from her at FCC Beaumont.  The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Houston Area Office.
