On May 7, 2020, a former BOP Medical Contractor previously assigned to the Federal Correctional Institution Memphis (FCI Memphis) in Tennessee was sentenced to one day of imprisonment with credit for time served and three years of supervised release for one count of bribery of a public official. Kourtney Pierce was sentenced in the Western District of Tennessee. According to the Plea Agreement, Pierce pled guilty to Count One of the Information, which stated that on or about April 11, 2019, Pierce brought prohibited items, to-wit cigarettes, into FCI Memphis in exchange for money. The investigation was conducted by the OIG’s Atlanta Area Office.
