Former BOP Maintenance Worker Supervisor Pleaded Guilty to Theft of Public Property

On June 23, 2020, a former Maintenance Worker Supervisor previously assigned to the Federal Correctional Institution Big Spring in Texas pleaded guilty to one count of theft of public property.  Marty Richter pleaded guilty in the Northern District of Texas.  According to the factual statement in support of the guilty plea, from on or about November 26, 2018, through on or about December 16, 2019, Richter did knowingly and willfully embezzle, steal, purloin, and without authority convert to his own use and the use of another, property and a thing of value of the United States, to wit:  equipment, furniture, and tires.  The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s El Paso Area Office.
