On November 5, 2025, Eric Reyes, a former BOP inmate, pleaded guilty in the Southern District of Georgia and was sentenced to three years of probation, following an indictment for possession of contraband in prison. According to the Indictment, Reyes purchased a contraband cell phone, which was smuggled into FCI Jesup by Correctional Officer Ashley Brown, who was also charged in the indictment. The investigation was conducted by the OIG’s Charleston Locale.
