Former BOP Education Specialist Sentenced for False Statements

Date

On October 20, 2023, a former BOP Education Specialist previously assigned to the Federal Correctional Institution El Reno (FCI El Reno) in Oklahoma was sentenced to 24 months of probation and ordered to pay a fine of $5,000 for one count of providing false statements.  Nicole Leck was sentenced in the Western District of Oklahoma.  According to the factual statement in support of the guilty plea, on or about December 29, 2022, Leck knowingly and willfully made materially false statements to the government during an official law enforcement interview.  Specifically, Leck falsely stated that she had not engaged in sexual activities with an inmate and was only suspected of these acts because she sometimes worked alone in the library with inmates.  The investigation was conducted by the OIG’s Dallas Field Office and the FBI.
