Former BOP Correctional Treatment Specialist Sentenced for Assault and Battery of a Family Member and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor

On February 11, 2022, a former BOP Correctional Treatment Specialist assigned to the Federal Correctional Institution Petersburg in Virginia, was sentenced to 6 months of imprisonment for assault and battery of a family member and 6 months of imprisonment for contributing to the delinquency of a minor, with the sentences to run concurrently with each other.  Victor Idjerhefere was sentenced in the Commonwealth of Virginia.  According to the evidence presented at trial, from on or about January 10, 2020, through on or about January 16, 2020, Idjerhefere used a hot clothes iron to burn his minor child, causing bodily injury, to teach her a lesson, and then refused to provide any necessary care for the child’s health.  The investigation was conducted by the OIG’s Washington Field Office and the Chesterfield County Police Department.
