On March 2, 2022, a former BOP Correctional Officer previously assigned to the Federal Correctional Institution Three Rivers in Texas was sentenced to six months imprisonment and two years of supervised release, with six months of location monitoring and home confinement, for one count of providing or attempting to provide methamphetamine to a federal inmate. Jolienne Salinas was sentenced in the Southern District of Texas. According to the factual statement in support of the guilty plea, on or about May 10, 2021, Salinas attempted to smuggle methamphetamine into prison for a federal inmate with whom she had a sexual relationship. The investigation was conducted by the OIG’s Houston Area Office, and forensic assistance was provided by the OIG’s Cyber Investigations Office.
