On April 11, 2024, a former BOP Correctional Officer previously assigned to the Metropolitan Correctional Center New York (MCC New York) was sentenced to 5 months of imprisonment and 2 years of supervised release for one count of conspiracy to commit honest services wire fraud. Mario Feliciano was sentenced in the Southern District of New York. According to the factual statement in support of the guilty plea, from in or about October 2019 through in or about April 2020, Feliciano participated in a conspiracy to commit honest services wire fraud by agreeing to accept bribe payments from prisoners at the MCC New York in exchange for prison contraband. The investigation was conducted by the OIG’s New York Office, the FBI, and the CBP Office of Professional Responsibility.
