On December 16, 2021, a former BOP Correctional Officer previously assigned to the Federal Correctional Complex Coleman (FCC Coleman) in Florida, was sentenced to 20 months of imprisonment and 2 years of supervised released, as well as ordered to pay $2,000 in restitution, for one count of bribery of a public official. Wayne A. Grant pleaded guilty and was sentenced in the Middle District of Florida. According to the factual statement in support of the guilty plea, on or about February 4, 2021, Grant provided paper material which was soaked with approximately 70 grams of sham methamphetamine to an inmate in FCC Coleman. Grant received the sham methamphetamine and a $2,000 payment from an undercover agent, in exchange for the delivery of the sham methamphetamine to the inmate. The investigation was conducted by the OIG’s Miami Field Office and the FBI.
