On May 13, 2021, a former BOP Correctional Officer previously assigned to the Federal Correctional Institution Schuylkill (FCI Schuylkill) in Pennsylvania was sentenced to 24 months of imprisonment and one year of supervised release for one count of bribery. The defendant was also ordered to forfeit $89,700. Paul Taylor was sentenced in the Middle District of Pennsylvania. According to the plea agreement, Taylor pleaded guilty to a one-count Information, which stated that from in or about 2011 through in or about 2016, Taylor received more than $89,700 in return for smuggling tobacco and related items into FCI Schuylkill and providing that contraband to inmates. The investigation was conducted by the OIG’s Tucson and New Jersey Area Offices.
