On August 13, 2020, a former BOP Contract Correctional Officer previously assigned to D. Ray James Correctional Facility (DRJCF) in Folkston, Georgia, was sentenced to six months of imprisonment and three years of supervised released for one count of bribery of a public official. Micheal Eaddy was sentenced in the Southern District of Georgia. According to the factual statement in support of the guilty plea, on or about May 31, 2019, Eaddy directly and indirectly did corruptly demand, seek, receive, accept and agree to receive $246.25 in exchange for bringing prohibited objects into the DRJCF. The investigation was conducted by the OIG’s Atlanta Area Office.
