On December 17, 2025, a former BOP Correctional Officer previously assigned to the Metropolitan Detention Center, Brooklyn (MDC Brooklyn) in New York, was sentenced to six months home incarceration, 24 months of probation, 12 hours per month or 144 hours of community service and ordered to pay a $100 assessment fee for one count of attempted provision of contraband in prison. Najee Jackson was sentenced in the Eastern District of New York. According to the Indictment, on January 21, 2025, Jackson did knowingly and intentionally attempt to provide marijuana and tobacco cigarettes to an inmate at MDC Brooklyn. The investigation was conducted by the OIG’s New York City Office.
