Former BOP Correctional Officer Pleaded Guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana

On July 25, 2023, a former BOP Correctional Officer previously assigned to the Federal Correctional Institution Edgefield (FCI Edgefield) in South Carolina pleaded guilty to one count of possession with the intent to distribute marijuana.  Altemus Johnson pleaded guilty in the District of South Carolina.  According to the plea agreement, Johnson pleaded guilty to Count 1 of the Indictment, which stated that on or about November 18, 2021, Johnson knowingly, intentionally, and unlawfully possessed with the intent to distribute marijuana, a Schedule I controlled substance.  The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Atlanta Area Office and the FBI.
