Former BOP Correctional Officer Pleaded Guilty to Bribery


On September 7, 2021, a former BOP Correctional Officer, previously assigned to the Federal Correctional Complex Coleman (FCC Coleman) in Florida, pleaded guilty to one count of bribery of a public official.  Wayne Grant pleaded guilty in the Middle District of Florida.  According to the factual statement in support of the guilty plea, on or about February 4, 2021, Grant provided paper material which was soaked with approximately 70 grams of sham methamphetamine to an inmate in FCC Coleman.  Grant received the sham methamphetamine and a $2,000 payment from an undercover agent, in exchange for the delivery of the sham methamphetamine to the inmate.  The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Miami Field Office and the FBI.
