Former BOP Correctional Officer Indicted for Introduction of Contraband, Conspiracy, and Bribery of a Public Official

On September 28, 2022, a former BOP Correctional Officer previously assigned to Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC), Brooklyn, New York, was indicted with two counts of introduction of contraband, one count of distribution and possession with intent to distribute marijuana, two counts of bribery of a public official, and one count of conspiracy to bribe a public official.  Jeremy Monk was indicted in the Eastern District of New York.  According to the Indictment, between in or about November 2020 and in or about April 2022, Monk smuggled marijuana into MDC Brooklyn in return for monetary payments. This investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s New York Field Office and the FBI.
