On September 29, 2026, a former BOP Correctional Officer previously assigned to the Federal Correctional Institution Seagoville, in Texas, was arrested and pleaded guilty following an Information charging her with one count of making false statements to a federal agent. Kiara Cheatham pleaded guilty in the Northern District of Texas. According to the factual basis in support of the guilty plea, on or about August 15, 2024, Cheatham made a materially false statement to a special agent employed by DOJ OIG. The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Dallas Office.
