On December 17, 2021, a task force officer with the FBI’s South Sound Gang Taskforce, based in Tacoma, Washington, pleaded guilty to one count of making false statements to a government agency, following a December 14, 2021 Information. Evan Brady pleaded guilty in the Western District of Washington. According to the factual statement in support of the guilty plea, on March 22, 2017, Brady told OIG Special Agents during a voluntary, sworn interview that he did not take missing seized evidentiary items, specifically a laptop computer and cellular telephones, that had been stored at the FBI office in Tacoma, Washington, when he in fact did take these items and knew his statements were false at the time he made them. The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Seattle Domicile Office, with investigative assistance from the OIG’s Dallas Field Office and forensic assistance from the OIG’s Cyber Investigations Office.
