Date

On July 28, 2022, the State of Utah entered into an agreement with the Department to pay $1,550,000 to resolve allegations that the State of Utah unjustly enriched itself through Federal grant funds awarded by the Office of Justice Programs, and in March 2023 the Utah legislature approved the settlement and payment of it.  No determination of liability or a concession was made by this settlement.  The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Fraud Detection Office.
