On August 4, 2025, William T. Thomas, a BOP Unit Secretary assigned to the United States Penitentiary–McCreary (USP McCreary) in Kentucky, pleaded guilty to one count of harassment and was sentenced to 12 months of probation in Denver County, Colorado. According to the factual statement in support of the guilty plea, on April 3, 2024, Thomas intentionally harassed and subjected a victim to physical contact. The investigation was conducted by the OIG’s Denver Office with assistance from the OIG’s Lexington Locale and the Denver Police Department; forensic assistance was provided by the OIG’s Polygraph Program.
