BOP Registered Nurse Charged with Disorderly Conduct

On September 23, 2026, a former BOP Registered Nurse previously assigned to the United States Penitentiary Lee in Virginia, was sentenced to one year of probation and a $2,500 fine for disorderly conduct. Spencer Bowman was charged in the Western District of Virginia. According to the Information, on or about April 27, 2025, on federal property and within United States Penitentiary, Lee County, Virginia, the defendant, Spencer Bowman, harassed and threatened an inmate. The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Washington Office.
