BOP Inmate Pleaded Guilty to Knowing Possession of a Contraband Cell Phone

On June 18, 2025, BOP inmate incarcerated at the Federal Correctional Institution Coleman Medium (FCI Coleman Medium) in Florida, Michael Velasquez, pleaded guilty to an Information filed in the Middle District of Florida. According to the Information, Velasquez knowingly possessed a contraband cell phone while incarcerated at FCI Coleman Medium. This information was discovered by the OIG during an investigation into allegations that an FCI Coleman Medium Correctional Officer introduced contraband into FCI Coleman Medium; the investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Ocala Locale.
