BOP Inmate Indicted for Possession of Contraband in Prison and Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance

On August 31, 2022, a BOP Inmate incarcerated at the Federal Correctional Institution Miami (FCI Miami) in Florida was charged with five counts of possession of contraband in prison and one count of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance.  Isabelo Peterson-Lopez was indicted in the Southern District of Florida.  According to the Indictment, on or about June 21, 2022, Peterson-Lopez, while incarcerated at FCI Miami, was in possession of numerous contraband items and possessed fentanyl with the intent to distribute it.  The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Miami Field Office and the FBI.
