On July 10, 2025, an inmate incarcerated at the Federal Medical Center Devens (FMC Devens), in Massachusetts, Raymond Gaines, was indicted on one count of possessing contraband by a prison inmate, and a non-DOJ individual, Hasha Hammock, who was previously arrested based upon a Criminal Complaint, was charged with one count of providing contraband to a prison inmate. According to the Indictment and the Information, on or about August 18, 2024, Hammock knowingly and intentionally provided and attempted to provide a controlled substance to Gaines, at FMC Devens. The OIG initially opened this investigation due to the alleged involvement of BOP employees. The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Boston Office and the FBI.
