BOP Inmate Charged with Conspiracy to Commit Bribery


On July 9, 2020, a BOP inmate previously incarcerated at the Federal Correctional Institution Texarkana (FCI Texarkana) in Texas was charged via an Information with one count of conspiracy to commit bribery.  Gilbert Gomez was charged in the Eastern District of Texas.  According to the Information, from in or about August 2019 through in or about January 2020, Gomez provided monetary bribes to a BOP Correctional Officer in exchange for introducing contraband into FCI Texarkana.  The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Dallas Field Office and the United States Postal Inspection Service’s Fort Worth Field Office.
