BOP Correctional Officer Settles to Resolve PPP Loan Dispute

On May 26, 2026, a BOP Correctional Officer assigned to the Federal Correctional Institution Miami in Florida, entered a civil settlement related to the Small Business Administration’s Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) and Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program. Lashay Gaudin accepted the terms of the settlement in the Southern District of Florida. According to the Settlement Agreement, Gaudin falsely claimed she was a sole proprietor on loan documents for a PPP and EIDL loan. The total loss to the government was $32,418.22. Gaudin agreed to pay back $34,039.13, which includes interest and penalties. The investigation was conducted by the OIG’s Fraud Detection Office with assistance from the Small Business Administration Office of the Inspector General.
