BOP Correctional Officer Indicted for False Statements to Federal Agents

On April 20, 2022, a BOP Correctional Officer assigned to the Federal Correctional Institution Oakdale in Louisiana was issued a summons following an Indictment charging her with one count of making false statements to federal agents.  Samantha Harp was indicted in the Western District of Louisiana.  According to the Indictment, on or about July 15, 2021, Harp knowingly and willfully made materially false statements and representations to the OIG, including denying that she had ever called or received a call from an inmate’s family member, denying that she had ever sent or received a text message from an inmate’s family member, denying that she ever went into an inmate’s cell after hours when the lights were out, and denying ever receiving money from an inmate’s family member. The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Houston Area Office.
