On August 10, 2022, a BOP Correctional Officer assigned to the United States Penitentiary in Atlanta, Georgia, was arrested following an Indictment charging two counts of wire fraud.  Harrescia Hopkins was indicted in the Northern District of Georgia.  According to the Indictment, between on or about August 3, 2020 and on or about February 11, 2021, Hopkins applied for and received two Paycheck Protection Program loans, in the combined amount of $38,200, using a non-existent company, “Hopkins Towing and Storage.”  Hopkins allegedly submitted each application electronically through a lender based in New York.  The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Atlanta Area Office.
