BOP Correctional Officer Charged with Conspiracy to Commit Trafficking

On June 12, 2025, a BOP Correctional Officer assigned to the Federal Correctional Institution Terre Haute (FCI Terre Haute) in Indiana, Jessie Spears, was charged via Information with Conspiracy to Commit Trafficking with an inmate in the Circuit Court of Putnam County, Indiana. On or about June 16, 2025, Spears conspired with others to introduce Suboxone and/or Buprenorphine into the Putnamville, Indiana Correctional Facility. Spears self-reported and remains detained pending the charges brought by the Putnam County, Indiana Prosecutor’s Office; the investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Chicago Office with assistance from the Putnam County, Indiana Sheriff’s Office.
