BOP Cook Foreman Supervisor Indicted and Arrested for Deprivation of Rights Under Color of Law

On July 20, 2026, a BOP Cook Foreman Supervisor assigned to the Federal Correctional Institution in Terre Haute, Indiana, was arrested following an indictment charging him with one count of deprivation of rights under color of law. Trent Tinkle was indicted in the Southern District of Indiana. According to the indictment, on or about February 25, 2025, Tinkle deprived an inmate’s rights when Tinkle struck the inmate about the face or body and threw the inmate to the floor, resulting in bodily injury to the inmate. The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Lexington Locale and the FBI.
