Date

On November 18, 2022, a BOP Correctional Officer assigned to the United States Penitentiary McCreary (USP McCreary) in Pine Knot, Kentucky, was indicted on one count of falsification of documents.  Austin Z. Flynn was charged in the Eastern District of Kentucky.  According to the Indictment, on or about August 7, 2019, Flynn submitted Travel Settlement Claim forms claiming he was at the Federal Correctional Complex Hazelton in Bruceton Mills, West Virginia in travel status on June 21, 2019, and July 19, 2019, and requested per diem payments for those dates, knowing he was in fact in Somerset, Kentucky, on those dates.  The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Lexington Domicile Office and the FBI.
