On April 29, 2025, a USMS Detention Enforcement Officer assigned to the San Antonio Division, was arrested following an indictment charging him with Theft of Property greater or equal to $100, but less than $750, in violation of Texas Penal Code 31.01. Mark Anthony Gonzalez was indicted in the 186th District Court in Bexar County, Texas. According to the Indictment, from on or about April 24, 2023, through April 28, 2023, Gonzalez unlawfully appropriated U.S. currency from three federal inmates in his custody. The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Houston Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
