On April 22, 2026, a former USMS Contractor assigned to the Information Technology Division in Virginia, was sentenced to 27 years of imprisonment, followed by 10 years of supervised released for one count of sexual exploitation of children and five counts of coercion and enticement. Michael Bourne was charged in the Eastern District of Virginia. The investigation was conducted in support of the memorandum opinion and verdict, between August 18, 2022, and August 19, 2022, Bourne committed a violation of coercion and enticement of a minor within the Eastern District of Virginia. The investigation was conducted jointly by the OIG’s Washington Office and FBI.
