USMS Contract Facility Inmate Indicted for Bribery and Possession of Contraband

On May 17, 2023, an inmate at a USMS contract facility, the Northeast Ohio Correctional Center (NEOCC) in Youngstown, Ohio, was indicted on one count of bribery and two counts of possession of contraband in prison.  Kevin Coles was indicted in the Northern District of Ohio.  According to the Indictment, from in or about February 2017 through on or about January 17, 2019, Coles arranged for a corrections officer to be paid money in exchange for smuggling contraband, namely Suboxone and tobacco, into the NEOCC.  The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Chicago Field Office and the FBI.
