Non-DOJ Individual Sentenced for Providing Contraband in Prison

On January 22, 2024, a non-DOJ individual was sentenced to 1 year of probation and a $25 special assessment for one count of providing contraband in prison.  Alexandria Carter was sentenced in the District of Oregon.  According to the factual statement in support of the guilty plea, on or about October 28, 2019, Alexandria Carter arranged with a correctional officer to smuggle a cellular phone to an inmate at the Federal Correctional Institution in Sheridan, Oregon.  The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Seattle Locale and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
