On May 7, 2026, a former USMS Task Force Officer (TFO) was found guilty of reckless homicide after a trial by jury. Michael Jason Meade was convicted in the Franklin County (Ohio) Court of Common Pleas. According to the evidence presented at trial, Meade recklessly caused the death of a non-DOJ individual. The investigation was conducted by the OIG’s Kansas City Locale and the FBI.
