On August 18, 2021, the former Financial Director of Safe Place, Incorporated (Inc.), a non-profit organization that aids victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, located in Dumas, Texas, was arrested following an Indictment charging her with one count of theft from a State-of-Texas and federally funded program. Ginger Parks was indicted in Moore County, Texas. According to the Indictment, on or about December 1, 2016, Parks unlawfully appropriated, by acquiring or otherwise exercising control over, U.S. Currency in the amount of $2,500 or more but less than $30,000, from Safe Place, a non-profit corporation, by deception and with intent to deprive the owner of the property. The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Dallas Field Office and the Texas Department of Public Safety – Texas Rangers Company “C.”
