Former DEA Task Force Office pleaded guilty to Misprision of a Felony

On October 10, 2025, Edwin Pagan III, a former DEA Task Force Officer, pleaded guilty to misprision of a felon in the Southern District of New York. According to the Information, Pagan failed to report his involvement in a conspiracy in which he assisted a defense attorney in bribing former DEA Special Agent John Costanzo Jr. Costanzo was previously convicted and sentenced to four years in prison for participating in a scheme to accept bribes in exchange for providing sensitive law enforcement information to defense lawyers. This investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Charleston Locale and the FBI.
