Former BOP Medical Contractor Pleaded Guilty to Bribery

On March 1, 2022, a former BOP Medical Contractor previously assigned to the Federal Correctional Institution Williamsburg (FCI Williamsburg) in Salters, South Carolina, pleaded guilty to one count of bribery.  Tanganita Dawkins pleaded guilty in the District of South Carolina.  According to the plea agreement, Dawkins pleaded guilty Count One of a two-count Indictment.   According to Count One of the Indictment, from in or about June 2019 through in or about October 2019, Dawkins, a public official, directly and indirectly did corruptly receive, accept, and agree to receive and accept money in return for failing to enforce prison rules and regulations with regard to inmates at FCI Williamsburg. The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Atlanta Area Office.
