On July 16, 2026, a former BOP inmate was sentenced to 78 months of imprisonment, following an indictment by a federal grand jury for introduction of contraband. Adrian Sims was indicted in the Southern District of Georgia. According to the indictment, from on or about May 22, 2022, through September 20, 2022, Sims assisted BOP Correctional Officer Ashley Brown in smuggling K2 into the Federal Correctional Institution in Jessup, Georgia. The investigation was conducted by the OIG’s Charleston Locale.
