On January 9, 2026, a former BOP inmate pleaded guilty to one count of introduction of contraband. Adrian Sims was indicted by a Federal Grand Jury in the Southern District of Georgia; according to the plea agreement, from on or about May 22, 2022, through September 20, 2022, Sims assisted BOP Correctional Officer Ashley Brown, who was also charged in the indictment, in smuggling K2 into the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) located in Jessup, Georgia. The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s Charleston Locale.
